Public Hearing in Surry County for Proposed Coal Power Plant - Feb 27

The Surry County Planning Commission has scheduled a new public hearing for Old Dominion Electric Cooperative’s proposed coal-fueled power plant from 7 to 10 p.m. Feb. 27 in the Surry County Government Complex. The original hearing was declared void after five county residents won a lawsuit alleging that the community was not properly notified of the Dendron Town Council’s intent to vote immediately after the board’s February 2010 public hearing.
