*Meeting Recap* Chickahominy River Bacteria TMDL Project

Good Afternoon,

Thank you for your participation at the Chickahominy River & Tributaries TMDL public meeting sessions held last week in Mechanicsville.  The presentation provided at the meetings is now available at:

http://www.deq.virginia.gov/tmdl/mtgppt.html

“Chickahominy River and Tributaries (Stony Run, Beaverdam Creek, the Chickahominy River from 360 to 156, Boatswain Creek, and Collins Run) - Bacteria TMDL Development”, is the title listed above the presentation link.

The 30-day public comment period began Thurs. Aug. 4th and will expire Friday Sept. 2nd.

Please remember that we are developing this report and that your input is quite valuable!  All written comments, questions, and DEQ formal replies will be incorporated into the final TMDL Report that will be submitted to EPA for approval.  Please include your name, address, and telephone number with your questions or comments.  You may send your comments to:

Margaret.Smigo@deq.virginia.gov

or mail correspondence to:

DEQ – Piedmont Regional Office

Attn: Margaret Smigo

Glen Allen, VA 23060

You may also fax comments (804)527-5106; to the attention of Margaret Smigo.

We would particularly appreciate your input regarding the current population numbers for livestock, wildlife, and pets.  Also, if you have access to information which could help us improve upon the “human” numbers for septic/sewer connections, that information would be extremely helpful (shapefiles, maps, etc. showing septic parcels or sewer connections).

You may also contact me outside of the comment period.  Please note that only public comments (received during the comment period) will be included with the final report provided to EPA – but your input is alwaysappreciated!

Feel free to share this presentation with neighbors and friends!   We once again thank you for your participation and your time.

Best Regards,
